The World Wide Web (WWW.) was superior than any other innovation in the 20th century such that it took only 4 years from inception to reach 50 million user(while The radio took nearly 38 years).In addition,there was a rapid rise in dot com companies in the late 90’s.

The internet has achieved very great success over very small years and was able to gather a large base of customers until it reached the entire world on one network besides, most of the services are free and reached full popularity within 4 years and this is a great sign of success
The world wide web opened up the internet to everyone, not just scientists. It connected the world in a way that made it much easier for people to get information, share, and communicate. It has since allowed people to share their work and thoughts through social networking sites, blogs, video sharing, and more.It made ISP addresses easier to obtain. It created new interfaces that were difficult to manipulate. It opened the Internet to widespread popular usage.

the total surplus generated from technological innovations during the 20th century while the
remaining 97.8% of the surplus went to consumers. For example, Facebook makes money from ads but if it were to charge even $1, users might migrate en
masse to a substitute platform. WhatsApp used to charge $1/year
but became totally free in 2016 and does not even have ads as of today.
